Micah Owings: Greatest Slugger of All Time?

For at least a day, Micah Owings is a more feared slugger than Albert Pujols, at least, by the numbers. According to Elias Sports Bureau:

Players with highest OPS and a minimum of 75 at bats

Babe Ruth 1.164
Ted Williams 1.116
Lou Gehrig 1.079
Barry Bonds 1.051
Micah Owings 1.044*
Albert Pujols 1.042
* -- .373 OBP, .671 Slug pct.

He's beyond just a good hitting pitcher. He was sent up to pinch hit with the game on the line, and he hit a home run. He's become a flat out clutch hitter now. It's kind of ridiculous when you think of it.

Amazin' Mess

The sloppy mets dropped a horrible game yesterday. It was quite the abysmal loss. They were beaten 13 to 1, with 9 unearned runs from some timely errors. The Pittsbugh Gazette posted that for one day the Nady for Oliver Perez trade looked like absolute genius. I can't argue. Even if those 9 unearned runs were taken off the board, they still made more errors than the 2 hits they got. You know it's sad when Delgado gets one of them and no one else can. There were even 8 walks, but of course, only 1 run to show for the whole thing. It's been a pitiful display of men left on base this year. Hopefully, a series against the best the national league has to offer in Arizona will help. Sure, that always helps.

Seriously, Who Hasn't Slept with Roger Clemens?

Well, the list keeps getting longer. At this point, his wife aside, Clemens seems to have had some type of shady dealing with McNamee for Steroids, and then affairs ranging from a 15 year old country to singer to a pro golfer's girlfriend. I really wouldn't be shocked if a story broke in the next week about him and Jose Canseco at this rate...

I bet he needed all those roids to keep up with his many female companions
